Burlap Sack Messenger Bag
Hello there!
Included is a picture of a messenger bag made by Graham, which he sent me after requesting the free potato sack preparation tips PDF file, which I offer free to anyone who asks....
This is What Graham told me about the bag:
"A few more details about it, it's11 1/2 inches tall by 12 inches wide. The strap is made of a 42 inch strip of 3 inch wide burlap with the ends folded in to make a strap that's 1 1/2 inches wide. Funny story about the sack that I used for this. I went into my local coffee roasters to try and buy a few sacks so that I could cut them up and use them for wrapping some of my outdoor plants, and they just gave me about 12 sacks. Some were nicer than others, so I kept the nice, tighter weave ones for crafts."
Thanks for sharing, Graham!
I love seeing what people have made......!

Burlap Curtain Ruffles and Burlap Mr. and Mrs. Pillows....
Well, lookie here!
See what Kait from Mrs. DIY and tennis guy came up with!
In an effort to save herself (and her hubby) some money,
she went to Hobby Lobby
she went to Hobby Lobby
and bought the material to make the pillows that run $118 at Ballard Designs....
Smart Girl!
And you know what?
I think hers are cuter.
Love the font she used.
And naturally she couldn't let the left-over burlap just sit there,
so she put it to good use by making ruffles for her bedroom curtains.
Good job Kait!
Love it!

New Adorable Potato Sack House Pillows
Wow!
Check out these new house pillows I just added to the etsy store....
aren't they the cutest thing you ever did see?
I have always loved the House Icon, there is something so sweet and charming about it. I mean how can you not love a symbol that symbolizes HOME!
HOME equals LOVE
and peace and welcoming and being yourself, and kicking back and being loved and comfortable and WARM and supported and all that good stuff where you want to be and have a warm cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter day.
The world could use a little more of that right?
So the past few weeks I have been working on all sorts of HOMES:
pillows, paintings, you name it. (click on images to see them larger)
And I LOVE them!!!
they look so happy sitting on my couch...
Sitting on a chair...
I even have some house pillows sitting outside in the cold on the porch...
Poor things...
They get a little skiff of snow on them sometimes....
But they look oh so welcoming and happy out there for us when we get home, and for the visitors....
Of which we have been getting a lot lately actually....
It must be the pillows, attracting people to out warm and cozy home...hahaha!!!!
So anyway, the pillows are a potato sack on the front, combined with lots of other fabrics and even a SOFT backing, so you can just flip the pillow over and have a snugly nap on the couch while using a it as a neck bolster pillow....
Good thinking, huh!
And just for kicks, I made handmade "handmade" tag with a self-portrait on them...
Looks just like me... heeheeheehee :o)
Go check out these fun pillows right here...
WARNING:
guaranteed to look good in YOUR home!!!
LOL!!
